Air Sampling

Allergen exposure assessment in animal facilities is generally based on airborne allergen sampling of the work environment, or in the breathing zone of individuals performing specific tasks.

A portable sampling pump can be fitted with a 25mm IOM sampler or a 37mm air sampling cassette and calibrated to measure occupational exposure limits. InBio does not provide sampling equipment rentals at this time.

Alternatively, InBio has developed a modern air sampling device, Apollo, which is user friendly and ideal for air sampling in homes, laboratories, and workplaces. We are also able to analyze filters or sample types (dust samples, wipes, swabs) of your choosing.

Air Samples – Laboratory Animal Allergens

  • Pack each filter or cassette in a separate bag to prevent cross-contamination and condensation.
  • Ship overnight in an insulated container with ice packs.
  • If samples are collected over multiple days, store frozen and ship on dry ice.
