The Environmental Testing Suite in action.
Here are just a few examples of the ways inBio clients have taken advantage of the ETS.
Biotech companies focused on improving air purification investigate the efficacy of an innovative air filtration system. By aerosolizing household dust within the chamber and measuring levels of major household allergens in the air under various conditions, InBio enables companies to identify the most efficient system for commercialization and provide scientific backing for allergen removal claims.
Manufacturers of aerosol and spray cleaning products come to InBio with existing or new products to test the efficacy of airborne allergen removal. To test these products, InBio aerosolizes allergens in the ETS in a highly reproducible manner, with samples taken from the air and surfaces to allow comparisons. Experimental set-up can be fully customized in collaboration with InBio to closely mimic real-life applications. This approach allows our clients to develop the best formulations for airborne allergen removal and set themselves apart in the marketplace.
Manufacturers of vacuum cleaners often want to test the ability of their device to remove allergens from different types of flooring, such as hard floors and carpet. InBio has the expertise and facilities to offer comprehensive allergen testing to validate allergen removal claims. In addition, air removed through the device outlet can be sampled to determine if an allergen is being released into the air in the process of vacuuming.
Household and Personal Product companies from around the world come to InBio to aid in scientifically substantiating claims that cleaning product formulations remove and potentially denature allergens. InBio works collaboratively with each company to design an experimental plan to critically assess the efficacy of their product against a range of common indoor allergens. Various formulations of the products are tested at a range of concentrations and analyzed using our multiplex MARIA® technology to determine a reduction in allergen—enabling our clients to identify the most effective product formulation and concentration for allergen reduction compared to competitor products.
Once allergen denaturing claims have been supported, cleaning product companies often take testing a step further to mimic daily life use patterns that involve various hard surfaces, flooring, carpeting or fabrics. Our team of experts designs experiments adapted to fulfill requirements from claims and marketing departments to ensure the claims are backed by scientific proof.
