InBio has extended its recombinant protein development efforts to include viral proteins relevant to allergy and asthma: Human Rhinovirus-16 (HRV-16) surface proteins VP1, VP2, and VP0 (a fusion of VP2 and VP4).
Key tools for immune mechanism research.
HRV capsid proteins are useful in the study of the immune mechanisms involved in rhinovirus-induced asthma exacerbations, as well as for epitope mapping, T-cell responses and diagnostic purposes.
Normally, rhinovirus proteins are difficult to express individually, due to extensive protein-protein interactions. Using proprietary purification and manufacturing schemes, InBio has developed purified individual proteins HRV-16 VP1, VP2, and VP0. Immune reactivity is validated by IgG antibody ELISA using serum samples from Rhinovirus patients. All of it under an ISO 9001:2015 certified Quality Management System.
