InBio offers a broad range of product testing services, including Environmental Testing Suites and viral testing capabilities in accordance with applicable standards.

InBio has recently expanded facilities and commissioned a new and improved Environmental Testing Suite (ETS) in Cardiff, Wales. The suite is primarily used to test the safety and efficacy of home and personal care products including air purification devices, cleaning products, vacuum cleaners, carpets and textiles. The facility supports all stages of product development, from R&D, to formulation testing and validation of end-product claims. Comprehensive allergen testing is provided onsite.

Additionally, InBio offers viral testing services, including virucidal activity and assessments of virus viability on surfaces and in suspension. Custom testing methods can be designed to test a variety of products for virucidal efficacy, including Vaccinia virus and Human Coronavirus 229E which can support product claims against coronaviruses, including SARS-CoV-2. InBio laboratories in the UK have tissue culture facilities that operate under Biosafety Level 2 and are ISO 17025 compliant. Utilizing the unique setup of the ETS, Indoor Biotechnologies are also developing models for viral aerosol studies, which can be customized to test the safety and efficacy of a range of anti-viral products against airborne viruses.

Allergen Variability in Early Introduction Foods: What Have We Learned?

InBio has further developed its multiplex technology, MARIA^® for Foods, to simultaneously measure up to 17 major food allergens from a single sample. This state-of-the-art technology was recently used to compare specific food allergen levels in EIF brands, as reported at the 2021 AAAAI Annual Meeting. The study, published in The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice and as an article in Research Features magazine, demonstrated significant variability in the allergen concentration and dose in EIF from nine manufacturers, when tested for 17 major allergens.

Molecular Approach to Allergy Diagnostics: Innovative Products and Services

InBio has served the allergen diagnostic industry for over 10 years. Using our proven expertise in structural biology and protein expression, InBio has designed and created a comprehensive portfolio of allergen components for diagnostic use, including dust mite, animal, food, mold, pollen, cockroach, venom and other allergens.

In addition, InBio has recently licensed a unique portfolio of Human IgE Monoclonal Antibodies to a diverse panel of clinically important allergens. This technological breakthrough is poised to make a significant impact on diagnostic applications. The human IgE monoclonal antibodies are derived from patients with a clinical history of allergic disease and an excellent alternative to allergic-sera for diagnostic purposes.

InBio is delighted to announce that it has entered into an agreement with Merck KGaA (Darmstadt, Germany), operating as MilliporeSigma in the US and Canada, to be a global distributor of InBio’s purified food allergens. The agreement signifies the increasing importance and relevance of food allergy research and diagnostics. Please find the press release for details.

The distribution agreement covers all geographies, and products will be stocked globally to improve availability to customers. Over 50 products from InBio^®’s food allergen and protein portfolio can be found on MilliporeSigma’s website and will continue to be available through existing Indoor Biotechnologies channels, including www.inbio.com.

Recently released allergens include Can f 4 and Can f 6 (dog), as well as Fra a 1 (strawberry). We are continuously adding to our allergen portfolio, plan ahead with the 2021 Allergen Pipeline.

MARIA^® – Offered as a kit or service, MARIA^® continues to be the gold standard for allergen analysis in large-scale studies, industrial hygiene projects, and healthy homes investigations. Simultaneous allergen detection, combined with increased sensitivity and reproducibility, make MARIA^® the tool of choice for home allergen testing, which has greatly contributed to its popularity.

MARIA® measures up to 17 inhalable allergens simultaneously, including allergens produced by dust mites, cat, dog, mouse, rat, cockroach, Alternaria alternata and Aspergillus fumigatus mold, birch, ragweed, rye, timothy grass, and the first ever test for cannabis allergen, Can s 3. Our MARIA® technology is trusted and used by leading IAQ labs, such as EMSL, EMLabs, Intertek Testing Services, Inspirotec, and others.

ELISA 2.0 – Kits include pre-coated plates and all reagents and buffers needed to perform the assay in two hours. The kits have been validated using Indoor Biotechnologies’ specific antibodies and immunoassay standards produced from purified allergens, providing for consistent performance and increased assay sensitivity for specific food allergens when compared to traditional ELISA kits.
