A step forward in airborne allergen and endotoxin monitoring.
Exposure to environmental allergens is strongly associated with the development of allergic diseases, yet historically there has not been an easy or highly deployable air sampling option. InBio has developed Apollo to meet this growing need. Smaller than a tissue box and with no need to calibrate, Apollo easily integrates into any indoor environment with its simple plug and play design and whisper quiet operation.
InBio’s recent publication featured in JACI Global details the benefits of using Apollo for sampling in homes and other indoor environments. Highlights of the paper below.
Efficiency
In a 10-hour side by side comparison, the Apollo sampler collected allergens with greater efficiency and with higher positivity rates of up to 100% when compared to traditional IOM samplers.
Sensitivity
Apollo captured low abundant indoor allergens while traditional IOMs or electrostatic dust collectors. Apollo was also more comprehensive when capturing major food allergens.
Valid Method for Endotoxin Sampling
Little consensus has been made on standardization of airborne endotoxin sampling. Apollo captured endotoxin in every home sampled, indicating that it is a reliable tool.
The Future: Microorganism Sampling
Through a UK grant, InBio has ongoing work extending the platform toward molds, bacteria, viruses, and bacteriophages.
