We recognize that the timing of our annual training course may not be convenient for some and can offer group or personal training in allergen exposure assessment to suit your organizations time frame. Of course, this will depend on our own work flow, but mutually convenient times can be arranged. Preference will be given to MARIA® Service Partners and Sub-Distributors. 2012 IAQA Pre-Conference Workshop - Las Vegas
Exposure to Indoor Allergens: Health Effects, Assessments and Intervention
Laboratory testing of environmental samples for indoor allergens has been available for many years and is extensively used in epidemiologic studies. In recent years, allergen measurements have become more common in the IAQ field in response to clients’ needs. In our experience working with IAQ and IH consultants, we have identified a need for a more hands-on approach to teaching about health effects of indoor allergens in an IAQ context, about sampling strategies, what lab results actually mean and how to interpret them, and what to recommend to the client based on lab results. We have therefore conducted a pre-conference workshop at the IAQA 2012 in Las Vegas. This workshop represents a tailored and condensed version of a two-day course that we have successfully offered since 1999 at our facility in Charlottesville, VA.
The following links provide access to selected scientific research and policy documents, and allow workshop participants an in-depth insight into the "Science behind the Allergen Story".
