InBio allergen testing for your home.

For more than two decades, InBio has made it possible for homeowners, schools and businesses to analyze indoor environments for allergens. Measuring allergens can give you an estimate of what level of exposure you face—exposure that can cause allergies to develop, with a range of symptoms and varying degrees of intensity.

InBio’s comprehensive Allergen Analysis Service covers allergens produced by dust mites, animals, cockroaches and molds, as well as a growing line of pollen allergens and foods, including peanut. InBio can measure extremely small quantities of these allergens—as little as one billionth of a gram!

A distinct value of InBio’s Allergen Analysis Service is that results are reported in real, quantitative values. Results for dust samples are reported in terms of micrograms of allergen per gram of dust (µg/g). As a general rule, if your home or indoor environment contains less than 0.5µg/g of any allergen, it is unlikely that you will develop allergies. If you are allergic and your home contains more than 10µg/g of allergen, you should consider taking steps to reduce the allergen exposure. Discuss this with your allergist or family doctor. Having your dust allergen tested will enable the doctor to determine whether your level of exposure is significant.

How does the Allergen Analysis Service work?

Step 1: Collecting Samples for Analysis

To assess allergen exposure, InBio recommends using our patented DUSTREAM® collector. It fits most vacuum cleaners, providing a quick and simple dust sampling method for straightforward sample submission. Dust samples can be collected from floors or rugs, or any soft furnishings such as beds, carpets or sofas. For hard surface floors where dust levels would be lower compared to carpet, you can collect along the room perimeter and around large, stationary objects.

Once sampling is complete, simply mail in the removable filters with a completed analysis request form (Samples to US Lab and UK Lab) to the address listed on the form.

Step 2: Allergen Analysis

InBio’s MARIA® technology provides quantitative, accurate and precise measurements of multiple indoor allergens in a single test. You can find our current pricing and the allergens that can be analyzed for here. The “# plex” refers to how many different allergens you would like to test for. InBio’s Allergen Analysis Service is completely customizable, so allergens can be added or removed as needed.

Standard turnaround time from sample receipt is five business days for the US lab, and 10 business days for the UK lab. The US lab offers a one business day rush option as well. We will email the results to you when testing is complete.
